Prince has worked with many prestigious clients over the years. She had the privilege of completing a mural for the Shiekh of Dubai’s grand celebration at Godolphin racecourse, of working with folk singer Arlo Guthrie on several posters, and completing a large project for Patrick Rothfuss’ Name of the Wind, among many others.

STYLES & MEDIA

works in both raster and vector formats – beginning with a scanned drawing and manipulating it in photoshop, illustrator or painter programs as well as the occasional 3d program. She is also fluent in traditional media, and has been working on a series of figurative neoclassical oil paintings.

CAREER

is the professional you need. Illustration is her foremost love, and she prides herself on her passion for detail. Her reputation as an intelligent and considerate contributor to the creative process has earned her countless honors and accolades.

EDUCATION

a traditionally trained artist – graduate of Cooper Union, summa cum laude and the president’s award for academic excellence. A traditional background in art focuses on skills such as drawing and painting as well as perspective and color theory. This allows the artist to translate their concept into whatever media best suits the job – resulting in a very versatile artist, who is not limited by any one medium.

    Presentation description

    Seeking to fly in the face of conventional wisdom that we hear from Google and SEO experts, my presentation aims to motivate WordPress users to push the boundaries of pre-built themes, and blocks. I will show examples of how we’ve allowed ourselves to become complacent, and offer suggestions on how we can again be Designers that push boundaries. Remember when we’d wait 15 seconds for a website to load from your 56k modem, and websites would have disclaimers like, “You require Netscape 3.0, and Macromedia Flash to view this site”? We didn’t leave the site, we waited the 15 seconds, so we could have our minds blown! Why is it that 20 years later, we all have cell phones that are more powerful than the computers we used in the 90’s with faster download speeds, yet we dumb down the user experience for fear that people will leave if it doesn’t display in 2 seconds?

    What’s going to make your session float everyone’s boat?

    I will explain why so many of them are struggling to get better paying clients, and the paradigm shift in design, that could potentially increase their revenue and change their businesses.

    Anything else we should know?

    Having begun my career at the start of the “Dot Com Bubble”, in the mid 90s; graduating from The Cooper Union and working in what was then called “Silicon Alley” in New York city, I’ve been able to ride the changing tides of technology and design fads for over 20 years. I tend to speak design and tech in a manner that both pros and the novices easily understand.

    Bringing a background in graphic design and social media marketing, I provide multi-disciplinary support to our marketing and sales department through content and design and by promoting audience growth and engagement on our social media platforms. Working at H Code has allowed me to utilize my identity as a Hispanic woman in my work to aid in our mission to connect brands with US Hispanics.
